The rain is falling in the Smoky Mountains; the leaves are dropping, so you need to be quick to catch the 2011 color changes. Thank you for a good October! Our Native American jewelry is always a big hit this time of year! I can say that several Christmas gifts left our shop, so some of you will be surprised. Another big hit has been the flutes we offer. Falcon Flutes, Dana Ross, and High Spirit flutes, Odell Borg, are what we offer and I might say several folks are happy they now have one (or another to add to their collection). This is the year for moccasins and we offer several brands and styles. The choices are many, from infant to children and both adult men and women. Check the site out, Andi has most posted and ready to ship. Andi is working on putting up some Gary Tucker custom knives along with Sam Cox knives. Both are top built works of art. If you want to see something special, help us out with your suggestions. We will have a new shipment of Kickingbird pottery in the very near future.

Fall is a fantastic time of year in Gatlinburg. Andi and Jacob took advantage of it this weekend, and took T-bone camping for the first time. They had a blast.
October is actually our busiest month. Everyone heads our way to check out the fall colors. The town is hopping with people. We get the chance to visit with a lot of regular customers. It is always great to chat with them, and to hear what has happened in the last year. Join the crowd, and come by and visit.
Don’t forget to check the site. Andi has posted some bracelets up this past week, and should be getting some pendants up soon.

The trees have started to trade their green in for yellows and oranges. The mountains are covered in color! The bears are out in full. In fact one wandered through our flower bed in front of the shop this week. Now is the best time to come to Gatlinburg. And now is always the best time for some Native American jewelry. We have gotten several new batches in this month. Stop in and see what we have, and if you can’t make it to town, there is always the website.

As you know, our new site is up and running, “we” are not only adding new items, we are correcting some of the old pictures. When Knoxville Internet constructed the site, they brought some of the inventory over from the old site. You guessed it, the pictures did not transfer correctly. We are working on it! It will help us, due to our large inventory, if you advise us to what you want to see next. Andi priced some Cherokee anklets today, along with some inlay Zuni bracelets. Some toy weapons were put into stock from Parris toys and The Cherokees. One of our custom knives from Gary Tucker found a home and several folks are very pleased with their Navajo pottery. Now is the time to make those Smoky Mountain reservations to watch the mountains burst into color. Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce has many places in their list to make reservations. Also have a meal at one of the areas fine restaurants. The best thing is to stop at the Silver Galleon, in the Ober Tramway Mall, across from the Cherokee Grill. We continue to receive sterling jewelry from the southwest, to include treasures from Navajo, Hopi, and Zuni artists. The detail is beyond imagination. The road work continues, just step around and pop in.

We, at the Silver Galleon, are so blessed. One blessing is to be right smack dab in the Smoky Mountains. Our drive through Gatlinburg is quiet in the morning, but soon the buzz of the town begins. We are blessed to serve our customers, day by day. I am so glad to visit and revisit with our folks that continue to return. We have a strong network of artists, and also a network of folks that pick for us when we can’t go west. We leaned on one of the pickers to send us some detailed Zuni jewelry. We got a variety of the turquoise, coral, and other stones set in sterling silver. We also received some spectactular pieces of needlepoint and inlay. Some of our Navajo artists have set stones in the silver with some stamp work and moved to a more contempory look. Andi is adding new items, but if we are not fast enough, send us an email with your request. Keep watching and liking us.

We just received a shipment of Navajo and Zuni jewelry, and it is out in the cases. We have some new Effie C. pieces, including bracelets made from alternative metals.
